LG direct-drive front-loaders (WM3xxx / WM4xxx / WM6xxx and similar) use a stator on the rear tub and a hall-effect rotor-position sensor glued or screwed to that stator. The main PCB inverter will not spin without hall pulses.
OE (0E) is drain timeout: the pressure system still thinks the tub is wet, or the pump never moved water. Mechanical drain work lives here: LG OE drain error.
LE is locked motor: hall lost, stator overloaded, or the basket physically will not turn. OE and LE stack when a jammed drum never finishes extraction, the board retries drain, then posts OE—or when a seized pump load is blamed on the motor. Step-by-step diagnostic hierarchy

Read the exact code and water level — Photograph OE vs LE vs UE vs dE. If the glass shows a tub of water, treat OE as drain until the filter and hose are proven. If the tub is empty and the drum will not budge, skip to hall/stator.

Clear the OE mechanical path once — Coin-trap filter, impeller free-spin, drain hose kink, standpipe height. If OE clears and never returns, stop. If OE returns with a clean pump and a drum that will not rotate, you are not done.

Hand-rotate the empty drum (power off) — It should turn with even magnetic cogging, not grind, not lock. Locked or grinding → foreign object in the bellows, seized bearing, or rotor-to-stator rub. Turns freely with cogging → electrical (hall / stator / inverter).

Do not megger the hall PCB. Do not run inverter output with the stator unplugged as a “test.”

Match the hall/stator kit to the exact WM model. Mixing a 6-pin hall onto a 4-pin harness is a repeat LE.

Is OE always a drain pump on an LG front-loader?
